Why is nobody as disgusted as I am?

The interview with Lance Armstrong was a travesty. This was not a man who was humbly apologetic…this was an arrogant man pissed that he was caught. Am I suppose to listen to this crap and exclaim “It’s all good Lance, I forgive you for shattering dreams”. Every time he doped and won a race he took another athlete’s chance at an endorsement….he got richer and more powerful with each race he won. He annihilated anyone who went against him in any way, fellow athletes, reporters, bike mechanics…There were  many innocent people who were asked questions and replied honestly who now live in another country because they couldn’t get a job in the USA. He isn’t sorry…if he could have continued to lie and then believed he would still be shouting his innocence from the roof tops for all to hear. If his idea was to go on Oprah and sway public opinion…he failed miserably. If the idea was to go on and say he is sorry and then the USADA would cut the amount of time banned…epic fail. Right now he can not compete in the local Boy Scout bike race on the 4th of July or the NYC marathon…nothing. He is banned for life. His arrogant “sorry” ONLY has to do with being able to compete again. USADA stay strong…this man cost you millions of dollars. Life time ban? Hell yes…totally appropriate.

I am a mom of 4 who thought she was home free with her oldest son when he went off to college. My serious blunder? Genetics and being naive or maybe just plain stupid.

I’m with you. He allowed himself to be seen as a hero to so many – an American icon and a symbol for HEALTH. People get caught up in their own lies and believe their own media hype. Very, very sad.

As a cyclist myself, I am also totally with you…what he did was disgusting, and gives a bad name to the sport I so dearly love. When I ride, it’s for the love and pleasure of the sport…what fun is it if everyone who competes is using drugs to further themselves…there is no sport in that at all. I am thoroughly disgusted by Lance. I’m glad he was stripped of his titles.
