About madyson007

I am a mom of 4 who thought she was home free with her oldest son when he went off to college. My serious blunder? Genetics and being naive or maybe just plain stupid.

So sorry. You are not alone, we are right here if you need us. Email me if you want to.

  3. i stopped blogging since i have a horrible family member just trying to make me miserable. i know it seemed to help for a while, i ended up seeking therapy after i found out there was more to my disease of addiction. now my concern is putting too much information out there for everyone to pick apart.

that fear alone made the blogging useless to me since i was overly concerned about who would see it or judge me for it. the most helpful part was people like you and ron, parents of addicts, and other recovering addicts who gave such monumental support, encouragement, hope and love. syd is amazing and i do miss reading your blogs, i am so sorry your in a tailspin right now. i wish i had something that could help ease your worries. for me when my head gets overwhelmed there is a website called dbtselfhelp.com they have a video called radical acceptance. i will take a moment to sit quietly and watch and listen to the video, following the instructions as i read them. its about 5 minutes or so. it is very calming and relaxing.

it won’t fix anything but it will help calm your soul. and your a wonderful woman who deserves some calmness in her mind right now. check it out. see if you like it, i know the music itself in the video is just so mind soothing. it really helps me to calm so i can deal with lifes issues.

take care of you, wish i could help more. you have support, a strong heart and most of all your a mother, you will and can handle this. moms are stronger than anything on the planet. your about the strongest mother i have known. – suzie

  4. Andrew's Mom says:

You will never be alone because your heavenly Father is right beside you and will strengthen you.
He has promised that He will never leave us.
He knows the solution to all things, and He is working it all out in His time.
Now, just leave it in His hands and see what He will do.
thankfully He is in control of all things, and we are not.
Focus on self care and remember how He has answered you in the past.
You are an encouragement to all of us.

Don’t try to survive it alone.
go to alanon or your minister or your friend

I was just where you are standing a week ago yesterday. Believe me, you are NOT alone. The best people in the whole web-o-shere are PODs and recovering addicts who frequent these blogs. Lean on us. It is why we are here. And if it helps, today only lasts 24 hours, and tomorrow brings a whole world of possibilities. Believe in tomorrow. (brace for the cheese) The sun really might come out tomorrow.

This sometimes helps me, a prayer of St.Francis de Sales

Have no fear for what tomorrow my bring,
The same loving GOD who cares for you today
Will take care of you tomorrow and everyday.
GOD will either shield you from suffering or
give you unfailing strength to bear it.
Be at peace, then, and put aside all
    anxious thoughts and imaginations.

The everlasting God has in his wisdom forseen from eternity the cross he now presents
to you as a gifr from his inmost heart. This cross he now sends you he has gazed at with
his all-knowing eyes, understood with his divine mind, tested with his divine justice, warmed
with his loving arms, and weighed with his own hands, to se that it be not one inch too large, not one ounce too heavy for you, He has blessed it with his Holy name, anoited it with his grace, perfumed it with his consulation, taken one last glance at you and YOUR COURAGE, and then sent it to you from heaven – a special greeting from GOD to you – an alms of the all merciful love of GOD.

That captures the faithful meaning of suffering. Which all of us POA’s endure. Rest your head on GOD’s heart. My son , Billy, passed away at 22 on June 23, 1012 and without my faith in GOD I would not be able to go on. I have been following your blog since the begining and you are a strong mother, wife and friend. Of all the pains n life that we are liable, those of the soul are the hardest and greatest to bear.
    Praying for you,
    Lauren

Madyson, you don’t have to be alone. There are many people who will welcome you at a meeting. When you reach your hand out, another will grab it. I know that to be true.
